Rondeau Custom Insoles is a small business that started in Boston, MA after a need arose for affordable custom insoles that met the standards for high performing athletes. The business was started by M. Will Rondeau MA, LAT, ATC, CSCS, PES who began his studies at Ithaca College, earning a B.S. in athletic training/exercise science, and then further honed his lower extremity biomechanical assessment and insole fabrication skills while attending graduate school at the University of North Carolina (UNC). He worked closely with the elite Tar Heel athletes as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, and in the on campus physical therapy clinic. After learning advanced lower extremity evaluation skills of injuries and fabrication of orthotics by renown specialist Mike Gross, PT, PhD, and Marc Davis PT, LAT, ATC, Rondeau began fabricating orthotics for athletes and patients in the physical therapy clinic at the in-house orthotics lab. After graduating from UNC with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in sports medicine, Rondeau accepted a job in Boston as an assistant athletic trainer. After spending a year in Boston, he realized a hole existed in the current market: nobody offered an affordable orthotic designed to perform effectively in a variety of high intensity athletic domains. Thus, the idea for Rondeau Custom Insoles was born. In the company’s relatively short lifespan, athletes of all backgrounds and performance levels have benefited from Rondeau Custom Insoles.
